A select group of Oasis fans who missed out on tickets during last week's chaotic sales launch are now being given a second chance to secure seats for the band's highly anticipated reunion tour.

The band announced they will be sending invitations to “eligible fans” who were identified from the original sales process. This includes individuals who logged into the Ticketmaster website last Saturday but were unable to complete their transactions.

While some fans are thrilled to receive an invitation to the exclusive ballot, others remain frustrated. Many had spent hours in the online queue only to be disappointed by the initial ticketing issues.

Brad Haines, 29, from Wales, expressed optimism despite the previous setback. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to join the new ballot. Many haven’t been so fortunate,” he told the PA news agency. “I’m hopeful, but after missing out initially, I’m managing my expectations.”

Haines received his invitation email at 3am, registered around 8am, and got confirmation about two hours later. However, other fans who also invested significant time last Saturday did not receive an invitation for the new ballot.

Stuart Knight, a 39-year-old account manager from Hampshire, voiced his disappointment at missing out. “I’m really let down, especially since I thought this might be the last chance to see them. I spent all day in the queue and now feel like my effort was in vain,” he said. Knight noted that a friend who abandoned the queue earlier received an invite, which added to his frustration.

Ticketmaster addressed these concerns on X, stating: “Oasis has emailed all eligible fans with registration instructions. If you did not receive this email, you are not eligible.”

A statement about the private ballot explained: “Invitations will be sent overnight to eligible fans who were identified. If you logged into your Ticketmaster UK account on Saturday, August 31, and joined the queue but didn’t secure a ticket, you may be eligible for the new ballot. Check your inbox and junk mail for the email.”

This new opportunity for fans comes as the European Commission and the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) begin investigations into Ticketmaster’s handling of the situation, particularly regarding significant price increases due to dynamic pricing. Ticketmaster maintains that such pricing is determined by artists and their management.

In response to the ticket sale debacle, Liam Gallagher finally broke his silence on Friday, dismissing criticisms from fans on X with a curt “SHUTUP.”
